MEGA - Rostock 2018/19
China is (in)famous for its Mega-Cities. During my numerous visits to the country, I captured some of those giant urban conglomerates in photographs. A selection of those are exhibited at the Gallery-Café Maya in Rostock from 30 Nov 2018 until 29 Jan 2019. These photographs display the dramatic contrasts that play out in Mega-Cities; they show the ultra-modern architecture of flashy skylines right next to the cramped reality of people's everyday lifes.
Travel
From 02 May to 31 August 2018 I exhibited six of my travel themed photographs in a group exhibition at the Informatik Center Roggentin near Rostock, Germany. The theme carried through the photographs shows my wife on some of the different paths we traveled together in the last few years.
Amdo
In the summer of 2017 I visited Labrang Monastery in Gansu, China. Situated in the cultural Tibetan region of Amdo, Labrang is an important pilgrimage site for thousands of Tibetan Buddhists. I was lucky to be there just in time for one of the regions most important religious festivals. A few of the photos I took there were exhibited from 8 December 2017 to 11 January 2018 in the Maya Galerie Café in Rostock.
